A renewed service movement for national renewal

United America

A one or two year path for young Americans choosing purpose, country, and one another before college, work, and what comes next.

Serve close to home. Serve across the country. Leave with a mark that communities and employers recognize.

What we owe

What we owe our country can become what we build together.

United America is a push to make national service an honored path for young adults graduating from high school: a visible signal of character, discipline, and willingness to serve beyond the familiar.

It is inspired by a simple belief: the country is stronger when young people from different neighborhoods, classes, and regions work shoulder to shoulder on useful things.

Brooklyn to Birmingham. Boston to Louisville. Los Angeles to Miami. Minneapolis to Detroit, Des Moines, and Decatur.

The signal

A service year should mean something.

01

Purpose

Give young adults a mission larger than self-optimization, and the structure to grow inside it.

02

Prestige

Make service a mark that colleges, employers, founders, and communities recognize with pride.

03

Unity

Bring together young adults across neighborhoods, regions, and backgrounds to serve one country together.

The path

A modern service year for American life.

Domestic service can meet real needs while giving young adults the kind of responsibility that changes a life.

  1. Graduate

Finish high school and choose a year of service with intent.

  2. Serve

Spend 12-24 months in domestic teams solving practical needs.

  3. Return

Carry proof of leadership, resilience, and civic trust.
